The RRT Food Box App connects RRT Volunteers with people in crisis, enabling Volunteers to deliver RRT Food Boxes directly to the recipient in need. The RRT Food Box App alerts Volunteers when there is a Food Box delivery request in their area, with Volunteers having the option to assign themselves to the delivery request. The Volunteer can utilise the RRT Food Box App to navigate their way directly to the recipients front-door using an integrated Google Maps system. Once the delivery has been completed using the app, the recipient receives an SMS to notify them of delivery. This app has been designed to increase the Volunteer’s experience, and streamline reporting processes.
The Rapid Relief Team (RRT) is a global, not-for-profit organisation, who adapts their benevolent support services to meet the need at hand. In 2019, RRT designed the RRT Food Box initiative to support people and families in crisis, helping bring comfort and relief during challenging times. RRT Food Boxes contain a variety of non-perishable food items, and acts as an emergency food bank for people in need.
